Believe it or not there is only one place in the world where you can get these crystals from and the ones that we are using are from these mines and are authentic, as the ones that are not genuine will absolutely not work. If I put a couple of silver dimes in the chamber and set the gauge to this dimension can I expect to find silver dimes and/or silver items only? The images that you are talking about are a problem for treasure hunters because they can throw you off if someone has already found and removed a treasure that you are searching for and this false-image is still locked in the ground where the treasure was buried at one time. These images are called "Ghost-Residuals" and from time to time you will encounter them. The majority of the other false signals that you have heard about are very simple to avoid once you can understand what is causing them.

These have to do with "Solar Radiation" that distorts the magnetic fields of the earth and the energy fields or "auras" surrounding the treasures in the ground that you are searching for. These disturbances and how to deal with them are also explained in detail in my instruction CD that is included with the TFR-1 Rod. To answer your questions about the silver dimes: Yes if you put in a sample of silver in the sample compartment then the rod will be attracted to silver but y ou do not need to put in more than one mercury silver dime in the sample chamber as 2 grams of material is more than enough to find silver coins or other items made of silver like jewelry, necklaces, etc. You can adjust the weight of the Target Discriminator dial to 2 grams (the weight of the mercury dime) or 3 grams, 1 ounce, or any weight you wish and you will find that exact weight adjusted on the dial. So lets say there is 5 mercury dimes all together in a cluster buried in the ground, so you would simply adjust the dial on the Discriminator to 10 grams setting with your mercury dime in the chamber and you would then get a signal to that cluster.

The Target Discriminator is very useful for concentrating on coins, rings etc. That are in certain weight ranges so you can narrow down these targets in a short amount of time and avoid signals from other targets that are a different size from what you are searching for.

There is no radioactive material inside my equipment and what you have heard is true about some of the different models of dowsing rods on the market today but these amounts are so small that they pose no danger to a person as the radioactivity is sealed and in safe levels. To answer your last question: The amount of time learning to use this instrument can vary from person to person but its usually pretty quick the learning curve as its operation is very simple once you get the hang of it. If you already have experience using a metal detector then this device will speed up your searching time in the field very fast because with a metal detector you can only get a signal once you are directly over the metal and if your search coil is within range of that metal and then you are not even sure what the metal is that you found until you dig it out of the ground.
