Excalibur 1000 blue underwater metal detector, Could use a repair, but works

So there's no surprises, here is the scoop. Still a great working dectector. Actually had seals replaced a year ago. What is happening now, which I read is a problem others are having, is when you turn the detector off, it still makes a sound in the earphones. Either way, I always disconnect the battery when it's off, so this does not effect the operation for me.

You will see cracks in the pictures. These cracks are deep in the middle of the plastic, and the plastic is still sturdy as if there were no cracks. If you have it repaired for the noise, it will not cost much more to have the housing replaced, but I assure you, it doesn't need it. Whats good about this model is the wires wont rot and crack like the Excal II has been known to do.
